Marianella Sclavi is an expert and consultant in both conflict resolution and participatory approaches to decision making, and writer of many publications and books related to the Art of Listening applied to institutional and urban contexts.

We discussed with Marianella to understand her concept of Consensus Building and the reason why a Public Administration should compromise itself using a Participatory Approach to find a solution for social or public matters.
Why should a Public Administration ask common citizens to take part in discussions and decisions for matters that are usually only in the hands of the Public Administration? And why, on the other hand, should a citizen be interested to take part in a Participatory Approach?
