On the World Bank blogsite a special online event has just been hosted, a 24-hour interactive chat forum  (7-8 October, 2010) on three critical development issues/struggle against poverty, to which the citizens are asked to give suggestions.

Here the matters:

Open Development Solutions: Amid a new wave of access to public data, tools, and information, citizens are being empowered to hold governments accountable, participate and collaborate to solve long-standing problems.

Jumpstarting Jobs: In the post-financial crisis world, unemployment is the new crisis, with nearly 34 million of unemployed people, while 53 million more people will remain in extreme poverty.  What about global job creation?

A changing landscape for Development – Aid no longer flows exclusively from North to South. New partnerships and players are emerging. Donor and client governments, along with their constituents, are demanding measurable results.

The sessions have come to end but World Bank encourages to watch the videos and replay the chat discussion and liveblogging transcripts on its blogsite.
